Student Life Welcome Grants applications will be assessed against the following criteria:

  • The project should
    • Align with at least one key focus area 
      Focus areas include 
      • Social and cohort building activities
      • Navigating University
      • Skill development
      • Engaging with community and culture 
    • Be open to all students
      Regardless of faculty, school, or society membership, and especially valued when actively engaging diverse student groups.
    • Elevate engagement
      Enhance students' engagement by building a sense of community, belonging, and social connection.
    • Offer something new and innovative
      Established events may qualify only if grant support clearly amplifies their scale or impact.
    • Achievable and feasible
      Demonstrate thoughtful planning to ensure the event is workable within existing resources and timelines.
    • Be sustainable
      Sustainability should be considered across planning and execution.
    • Present manageable financial and student safety risk
      Projects deemed moderate or high risk may be considered ineligible.
    • Ensure transparency through declaration
      External interests declared on the application will inform the evaluation process.
